Two new news stories featuring members of our faculty discussing neurological issues and their effects on the public were published this week.
- A new Journal of the American Heart Association article found that people with a history of stroke were less likely than those with heart disease to receive statins, or to receive them at the correct dose. Ying Xian, MD, PhD, discussed those disparities, and possible reasons for them, for the American Heart Association news. Read their article here.
- Meanwhile, Rick Bedlack, MD PhD, (photo) spoke with Fox 8 news about his 22 years of treating patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), including the difficulty of his work, what ALS is like for patients, and why he has hope for the future. Read that article here.
