Mhoon nominated for Golden Apple teaching award
Congratulations to Justin Mhoon, MD, as well as fourth-year residents Eric Prince, MD, and Chen Lin, MD, who were recently nominated for Duke’s Golden Apple Award. The medical student body at Duke gives this annual award to recognize faculty and house staff for their excellence in teaching.
“[Mhoon’s] nomination is both a reflection of the impact that he made upon the medical students and an expression of our gratitude. Moving ahead in our training, we’ll always be indebted to mentors of his example,” wrote Hans Zhang, a medical student on the awards committee.
Mhoon’s educational work in neurology includes spending two weeks in clinic with second-year medical students, working with first-year students during their “spring clinic” experience, and meeting with fourth-year students interested in neurology. He also works with neurology residents during their Junior Assistant Residency and Chief Residency years.
